Just as Ezra proclaimed a fast to humble themselves before the Lord and to ask for a safe journey for their families, today’s believers are called to intercede for their children and loved ones, covering them in prayer against the challenges of life. This passage highlights the power of collective fasting and prayer, showing that when families unite in faith, God responds with divine favor and safety. In this season of spiritual discipline, parents are encouraged to stand as spiritual leaders, teaching their children to depend on God’s strength, while children learn the value of prayer as a foundation for their future. The message resonates deeply with the theme of family unity, spiritual inheritance, and the assurance that God hears and answers when His people seek Him earnestly.

During the 40-Days Prayer & Fasting, the sermon from Ezra 8:21-23 titled “Family and Children” reminds us of the importance of seeking God’s protection and guidance for our households.
